And in the case of power failures or corrupted phone lines, you can still snail mail us your particulars at the address below. Please take note however that the mail might take a few days to arrive and we would only be able to attend to you then.

When you register with us, you can tell us your preference for your choice of tutors. For example, some parents might prefer a female tutor for their child. There are also some others who specifically ask for university undergraduates.

Whichever the case, we would be most glad to take down whatever criteria you might wish to set for your child’s tutor. And on our part, we will try our best to find the perfect match for you.

When you are giving us your child’s particulars, we would like to know any special requests you might have. Otherwise by default, lessons will be held at your place of residence. If you however prefer other places such as the tutor’s house, just let us know and we will work things out accordingly.

This is entirely up to you. Whichever time you prefer for the lessons, and how frequent you want the lessons to be, just let us know and we will work things out accordingly.

How much you are willing to pay depends on you. When you give us your child’s particulars, we would also like to know your budget. You might think that since you are setting the price, you can try to bring it down as low as possible.

True, but we urge you not to. A low price does not always equate to good value. We hope to point out that the tutors are earning a living too. No doubt that these are hard times (and we are all underpaid), we are still sure that no one enjoys giving out more than he receives.

So the fact remains that if we want good value, we cannot scrimp on our child’s tuition fee. We hope that you would ask for a reasonable price and stick to your side of the bargain. If you are not sure how reasonable is reasonable, we would be glad to offer our advice.

After the first two weeks of lessons, we will send a representative down to your place and collect from you half of the first month’s tuition fee. We accept either cash or cheque. If you are paying by cheque, please cross it and make it payable to "What’s Up Tuition Agency".

Alternatively, you can choose to mail us the amount at the address below. For payment over the mail, we only accept crossed cheques made payable to "What’s Up Tuition Agency". Please DO NOT send cash.

And to facilitate payment, please help us by including the name of your child/ ward and your contact number at the back of your cheque. We will mail you a receipt as acknowledgement when we have received your cheque.

As for the remaining half of the tuition fee, it should be paid to the tutor at the end of the first month. And subsequently, the tutor would be paid the entire amount every month.

First we would like you to pinpoint exactly why you feel the tutor might be unsuitable. If it is just his or her first lesson, we hope you would give both your child and the tutor a chance. The tutor might be too nervous during the first lesson and what you see might not be his or her usual standard.

We also hope that you can "thrash out" any problems you might have with the tutor face-to-face. Instead of bottling it all up, direct communication might more often than not help to achieve a win-win situation.

But in the worst-case scenario where all attempts at negotiation fail, we urge you to contact us without delay. We would try our best to mediate and remedy the situation. And if need be, we will help you arrange for another tutor.

We thank you for enrolling your child in What’s Up Tuition Agency. For every tutor you engage through us, we would like to show our appreciation by rewarding you with a little something.

When a tutor registers with us, he or she would have accepted our terms and conditions. One of the conditions stated was that they are obliged to show you proof of their qualifications if you so desire.

If you find it awkward to ask proof from them, just let us know and we would be glad to inform them on your behalf.

Yes, of course! Just let us know your request and we would make the necessary arrangements. Please note however that the tutor is obliged to teach at only one place and only in one single time slot. Things can still be worked out however.

Plus: The tuition fee will be lower for each individual child.

Minus: The tutor might not be able to give your child his or her full attention.

When a tutor registers with us, we would advise him or her to teach for at least one full month. But if the tutor opts to quit "prematurely" without good reasons, this is a demerit point on his or her record. In such a rare case of negligence, we advise you to contact us earliest possible.

On our side, we will also blacklist the tutor concerned. Also, we would pass on this information to other tuition agencies which we are in contact with. We do not condone such irresponsible behaviors and would like to ensure that similar things do not happen again.

Now because of the fact that your child would now be without a tutor, we would give you priority when helping you look for a new tutor.

And as for whether you still pay the tutor, we suggest you pay only for those lessons taught. If there is disagreement regarding the amount to be paid, please let us know and we will be glad to settle it for you.
